Tips to identify adulteration in daily used food items.

*Milk*

Milk adulteration cases are happening daily in so may places. Detergent powder is added to the milk or some people sell synthetic milk as normal milk. This adulteration can take someone's life also. Therefore it is very necessary to identify it.

Mix 10 ml milk in same amount of water. If there foam occurs then there is adulteration. And synthetic milk is very bad for taste and while boiling it becomes pale yellow.

*Red chili powder*

Daily used in vegetables-curries, red-chili powder is adulterated by adding brick's powder or salt. To identify this adulteration is very easy. Mix one teaspoon of red-chili powder in glass of water. If this water becomes colored then there adulteration done.

*Paneer*

We all like Paneer sabji very much and it is very tasty also.  But dairy people can make us fool by mixing starch in this Paneer. For this, when you bring Paneer home boil it in some water and check the color of it by adding some drops of iodine solution onto it. If Paneer becomes blue then throw it or 'gratefully' return it to shopkeeper.

*Honey*

To check the purity of honey, dip cotton into it and burn it. If it burns continuously then it it pure Honey. Cotton dipped into adulterated honey doesn't burn easily. It crackers.

*Coconut oil*

Most of the times coconut oil is mixed with other oils and customers are fooled. to identify this adulteration, keep small caster of coconut oil in the fridge.The part which freezes that is coconut oil other is adulteration.

*Corriander powder* - Corriander powder is used to add flavour to the food and to prevent stomach ache. But what if it has woid straw added to it? Don't worry. Add a small amount of corriander piwder to water. If it is adulterated, the woid straw will float on water.

*Cumin* - Take a small amiunt of cumin on your palm and rub it. If it the cumin turns black, it is adulterated.

*Black Pepper* - Adulterated black pepper shines and it smells like kerosene.

*Apple* - An apple a day keeps the doctor away. However, what if the shiny apple we eat is actually coated with wax to look so? If we scrape the shiny aaple with a sharp blade or knife, abd if a white substance comes away, the apple is definitely polished with wax. In such case, it is better to peel the apple off before eating, or to return it back to the vendor.

*Turmeric* - Turmeric is used daily in our meals. If it is adulterated with *metanyl yellow*, then its consumption can cause cancer. Put 5 drops of Hydrochloric acid and 5 drops of water in turmeric. If it turns to the color of brinjal, then such turmeric can invite cancer.

*Raw turmeric (हळकुंड)* - Some people prefer to buy raw turmeric and grind it to get the turmeric powder at home. In this case, it is advisable to make sure that the raw turmeric is not polished. This is done by keeping the raw turmeric on a paper and pouring cold water on it. If it loses its color, tgen it is polished.

*Cinnamon* - To identify pure cinnamon, rub it on your palm. If the palm gets tge color of cinnamon, it is pure.

*Frozen peas* - Frozen peas are bought on a large scale nowadays because of its cost effectiveness and long life. However if it has *Melakite green* in it, it is better not to eat them. Put some frozen peas that are bought, in water and stir them. See the water after half an hour. If it has got color, then the peas are surely adulterated.

*Tea powder* - If the tea powder loses its color when put in cold water, it surely is adulterated.
